   Hello there!

So I’ve been wanting to post this blog or a while but I didn’t want to until I was finished. I wanted to share with everyone the stories behind my tattoos. I know some think I’m crazy for getting so many, yet alone so many overseas. However the reasoning behind each one is so very important to me. So without any further ado, here’s the general explanation behind my tattoos!

[Fight Back] This is my first tattoo that I got. I got this tattoo when I turned 18. The meaning for these is rather simple but means the world to me. Both words were written by my grandma’s. The word “fight” was written by my grandma Linda and the word “back” was written by my grandma Wanda. They both have/had cancer at the time that I got this tattoo. It was to be a reminder to fight back no matter what may come my way, just like how my grandma’s never stopped fighting the war against cancer.

[The Mountains] This tattoo has been something I’ve waited so long for. Ever since I got saved I knew I wanted a tattoo to remember that day. I prayed for a year straight on what to get and the Lord gave me a vision. I wanted to see full confirmation before I got the tattoo so I put it in the hands of two women that I knew were close to the Lord. So I described the general idea of what wanted with it to my team mate, Evelyn. Then I simply told my team leader, Hannah, what verse I wanted. It was up to both of them to ask he Lord and come up with something. What they came up with was exactly what I saw in the vision, down to every detail. The reason I wanted the mountains was because I find such beauty within them. The crosses is to show that Jesus gave up everything for me so even when I look at things as simple as Mountains I still see him and his light radiating off. The music notes are simply in correspondence with Isaiah 55:12 “For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” The verse under the Mountains is Isaiah 6:8 “Here I am, send me.” However for me I wanted it changed slightly so it would be my own words. The verse is perfect in itself but I needed to see the words from my own mouth.

[Olive Branch] This one has a double meaning. First is because an olive branch is the symbol of peace. The branch is placed right under the word fight on my arm. I want to be able to fight with the Lord’s peace, not allowing any battle to be from me rather the Lord. It also has a ton of scriptural meaning. Second, it’s for my team the Olive Branch. My team is my family. They are the people I have grew from so much and got to fight many battles with. It serves as a constant reminder of the love I have for the four (technically 5, I still count Hannah) women on my team.

[The Feather] This one has so much significance to me. The feather I’d connected to Psalm 91. This Psalm has been so important to me since my aunt pointed it out to me. The most extreme example of it in my life is the night of my prayer burn (if you didn’t read that blog you should it’s titled “A Battle with the Spiritual World”.) That night this Psalm was read and helped bring peace to a rather unsettling situation.

[Lighthouse] This one means the world to me as well as the first one I talked about. The lighthouse has so much meaning to me. The first is, my grandma Linda loved lighthouses. During one of our tea days (we had tea together every Wednesday) we were talking about the tattoos I wanted and she said she’d get a lighthouse if she wasn’t terrified of needles. She wasn’t the biggest fan of tattoos but that was the one and only one she said she’d get. She never did though so I did in memory of her. Another reason it’s so important is that I drew it. It’s the first tattoo I’ve gotten that I’ve drawn. If you know me then you know that I have had no confidence in my drawing ability. However recently the Lord has been showing me more freedom in the gifts he has given me. Allowing me to gain the confidence to permanently have it on display on my skin.

Well there you go! All these tattoos took lots of prayer and lots of confirmation before getting them. The meanings behind each one is extremely significant in my life. Thank you so much for reading to this point!
