Hey! Me again!
I know guys, I’m really impressed too! I didn’t wait another 2 weeks or more to post. Crazy things are happening! I wanted to share with yall something that’s been on my heart for the past few weeks. So let’s talk about a guy from Turrialba.

“Wait Kaili. That was a long time ago. What about more stories from recently?” Nope yall get this one because this man had my heart.

When my team and I were in Turrialba, we had a man volunteer to cook us food. Not only did he make us a meal but he made almost all our meals. His name is Julio. He would travel to the church, our home, or out to farm to make sure we were fed. He also made sure to get to know us, even in spite of a huge language barrier. He gave us nicknames and made sure to check on us when we weren’t feeling great. He also made sure to feed our sweet tooth as often as he could.

This man showed me what is means to serve the Lord to the best of your abilities. When he was in charge of our meals, he was never late or lazy. He made sure he put his all into our meals. At one point he even promised to make us a cake. This man showed so much unrelenting love for us. No matter how sick we got and how little we could eat, he never took offense. He just wanted us better. He’d pray for us and cared deeply for any update on our trip.

We learned pretty quickly that he wasn’t in the most healthy shape though. We didn’t realize just how serious it was in the beginning. He has major heart issues, to
o the point the doctor doesn’t think he’ll be around much longer. During our last few days there, his ankles were swollen and he was sick. Yet he still wanted to feed us and still made some more meals for us.

We texted our host and asked how Julio was doing since we left and we learned that he is doing better than when we last saw him. He still isn’t doing great though. So I do ask that you pray for him and his family. His wife was having a rough time when we last saw her. Pray for miraculous healing for him and comfort for his family. Overall pray that the Lord’s will be done, in this man that we grew to love.

Thank you for reading this short update!

Until next time!

    How inspiring is that?!
How many times have I skipped out on serving because I wasn’t feeling the best.
Julio truly must know what joy comes from serving.
God bless and keep Julio and his family. God pour out your favor and healing, in the name of Jesus!!
